Read, Eric
Eric Read hails from a sleepy town on the Chesapeake. He studied classical painting at Washington DC's Corcoran School of Art and received a degree in design from the California College of Arts and Crafts. Read co-founded the international design firm "be.", creating identity and packaging for clients such as Hewlett-Packard and Sara Lee among others. He resides in sunny San Rafael California with his wife, Deborah, and their black cat, Ashby.

"My heart series is a personal interpretation of a singular theme. I use the heart as a symbolic metaphor for the gothic darkness and life's internal passionate fire. Free form and organic, my technique includes the use of found objects as tools to apply texture, color and gold leaf with reckless speed and freedom of abstract expressionism. I am deeply influenced by modern masters such as Picasso, Ernst and Bacon. These images were created with a release of emotion expressing the dark yet celebrated aspects of relationships and love."

Robertson, Walter
Walter Robertson integrates his formal training as an interior designer and fine artist with a life long passion for his sunny southern California garden to create award-winning artwork. His unique style has attracted the attention of many manufacturers and his creations have been licensed for textiles, wall-paper and stationery products.

"I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to combine my interest in gardening and my talents as a mixed-media artist. I firmly believe that true value appears where awareness, harmony and passion meet. My creativity is channeled from the endless source of inspiration provided by nature. I also borrow freely from historical references and my botanical knowledge to create my art. It is a dynamic process: I constantly re-invent my work, incorporating new looks, ideas and dynamics as fashion and design trends evolve. The series of hand colored collages presented here marry the rich textures and colors of my garden with the charm of antique botanical prints."

Shelton, Joyce
Joyce Shelton resides in Florida and is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She enjoys a varied career in commercial illustration and fine art painting. Adept at watercolor, pastel, oil and acrylic, her works are reminiscent of the early 20th century impressionists in their free gestures and bold use of color. Images of flowers, fruits and interiors marry color, pattern and form in works that are both personal and decorative.

"Increasingly, I find myself enjoying the freedom of painting loose, spontaneous design as opposed to working within the confines of commercial illustration. It is exciting and satisfying to create art with a more practical application to be enjoyed by a larger audience. It begins as a simple piece of white paper, and ends as an expression of my very existence."

Stephenson, Larry
Larry Stephenson graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1972 with a double major in Art and Business Marketing. His passion for painting eventually led Larry into a full time career as a watercolor painter and free - lance illustrator designer. Larry is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society. "The most important things in life are not things. I think that I learned somewhere along the way that finding true happiness is the key to life. My happiness flows from the tip of a brush. It is with this same passion for painting that I have approached each day over the last twenty years while observing, feeling and translating what I see into my art."
